Lenovo Injects and Displays Innovation at CES 2012 with Thirty New Think and Idea Products

Lenovo (HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY) the world’s number two PC company, has announced thirty exciting additions to its Think and Idea brands for businesses and consumers at the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2012).

Lenovo aims to create a seamless digital experience for its customers across multiple devices be it PCs, tablets, smartphones or Smart TVs.

At CES 2012, Lenovo introduced the IdeaPad YOGA, the industry’s first multi-mode notebook with a 360 degree flip-and-fold design; an intuitive design that optimises the user experience of both an ultrabook and tablet across four different usage modes – notebook, tablet, stand and tent.

Lenovo also recently unveiled its “Personal Cloud” vision, marking the transformation of the company from a “personal computer” manufacturer to a “personal cloud solution” provider. By breaking down the barriers of device differentiation and integrating hardware, software and cloud services that are connected, experiential and dynamic, Lenovo’s Personal Cloud vision aims to create a comprehensive mobile Internet experience anytime, anywhere.

• IdeaPad YOGA Notebook – Four Experience Modes to Create and Consume
Designed for the convergence of professional and personal lifestyles, the IdeaPad YOGA is the union of a stylish, powerful ultrabook and a portable 13.3” multi-touch tablet. YOGA’s patented dual-hinge design is engineered to enable content consumption and creation spanning four intuitive usage positions – notebook, tablet, stand, and tent – in one computer, while offering higher durability1 and stability than conventional convertible form factors. YOGA is the industry’s thinnest convertible ultrabook measuring 16.9mm thin at 1.47kg. 

Powered by the Intel Core Processor family with a Windows 8 operating system, YOGA supports eight hours of battery life with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. YOGA’s versatile multi-mode form factor strikes an ideal balance between creating and consuming content, while at the same time, offering consumers an optimal experience of a notebook and tablet in a single device.

• IdeaCentre A720 All-in-One: Taking Touch Experience in the Home to the Next Level
As the industry’s slimmest 27” all-in-one and sporting a sleek metal exterior, the IdeaCentre A720 measures a mere 24.5mm and combines a frameless display supporting 10-point multi-touch.

The A720 is engineered to optimise the touch experience in the ‘digital’ home with the A720’s widely adjustable hinge, which allows the screen to be pulled towards the user at an angle of -5o and folded back to an angle of up to 90o, making touch applications more comfortable over longer periods in any position.

Powered by the Intel Core Processor family and NVIDIA® GeForce® graphics with up to 1TB HDD and 64 GB SSD storage, the A720 delivers an impressive home multimedia experience on a frameless high definition 16:9 wide-screen.

With integrated entertainment features, such as room-shaking Dolby Home Theatre V4 audio, Lenovo High-Sense (720p HD) Webcam, and Lenovo IdeaTouch (a suite of touch-optimised applications and games), the A720 is an ultra stylish and fun addition for the modern home entertainment center.

• The ThinkPad X1 Hybrid – Double the Battery with Instant Media Mode
Measuring approximately 1.5cm thick and weighing less than 1.8kg, the 13.3” ThinkPad X1 Hybrid goes heavy on performance by doubling the CPU performance and quadrupling the graphics performance of previous Lenovo 13” laptops. The hybrid comes equipped with choices of the latest Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors and the Windows 7 operating system. While a great crossover PC, the ThinkPad X1 Hybrid remains a business-class laptop first with features like optional mobile broadband, a high definition display that includes Corning® Gorilla® Glass and a high definition web camera and microphones for video and voice calling.

It also has robust security layered with Intel vPro2 technology, encrypted hard drives with remote management support and a fingerprint reader. Lenovo’s first business ultrabook, the ThinkPad T430u, equips business users with the same thin and light designs found in consumer ultrabooks without sacrificing business-class performance.

The stylish ThinkPad T430u ultrabook borrows some of the elements typically found on premium laptops, such as a matte finish that’s soft to the touch and an aluminum top cover that complement its small – less than 2cm thick and less than 1.8kg – frame. It also sports ThinkPad’s new modern and minimalist island-style keyboard.

The 14” laptop has business-primed features including choices of the latest Intel Core processors and Intel integrated or NVIDIA graphics, choice of SSD storage or up to 1 TB of HD storage, up to six hours of battery life, quick resume and fast boot up, and Lenovo Solution Center powered by Intel Small Business Advantage, a set of productivity and security tools helping to enable overnight energy savings and automatic patch updates

• ThinkPad Edge S430 – Style & Substance to Succeed
Image conscious professionals need look no further than the ThinkPad Edge S430 laptop. This striking laptop in Mocha Black measures less than 2.5cm thin and has metal accents, a soft-touch finish encased in an elegant thin and light design.

The 14” laptop also comes packed with the features SMBs need to succeed with choices of the latest Intel Core processors, a DVD burner or a second hard drive for up to 1 TB of storage, choices of Intel integrated or NVIDIA Optimus graphics, Dolby Home Theatre v4, USB 3.0 ports and Intel Thunderbolt™ Technology.

• ThinkPad Edge 11, 13, 14 and 15 Laptops – Designed to Perform
The new ThinkPad Edge 14” E430 and 15” E530 laptops give SMBs the freedom to choose their level of performance with options of the latest Intel Core processors or AMD Fusion APUs (on the E435 and E535 laptops) with choices of integrated or discrete graphics. The laptops also feature fast boot up, up to 1 TB of storage that can be combined with solid state drive storage, USB 3.0 ports and a high resolution web camera.

The laptop models with the latest Intel Core processors also include Lenovo Solution Center powered by Intel Small Business Advantage. The smaller 11.6” ThinkPad Edge and 13.3” laptops give SMBs the ability to optimise their performance and mobility with the latest Intel Core processors on the E130 and E330 or AMD Vision Accelerated processors on the E135 and E335 laptops.

The mainstream ThinkPad Edge laptops also feature an attractive graphite grey interior with choices of Midnight Black, Heatwave Red or Cobalt Blue covers, featuring the same progressive design of the ThinkPad Edge S430 laptops.

• Lenovo B Series laptops – Essential Computing
The Lenovo B Series laptops provide entry users the essential technologies they need to affordably accelerate their productivity. Equipped with choices of the latest Intel Core processors (on the B480 and B580 laptops) or AMD Fusion APUs (on the B485 and B585 laptops) along with integrated or discrete graphics, these laptops offer extreme value, starting at just $499.

Users can also extend their productivity with features including up to 1 TB of storage, USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI out port and 4-in-1 multicard reader. Like the other laptops with the latest Intel Core processors, the B Series laptops come with Lenovo Solution Center powered by Intel Small Business Advantage.

• IdeaPad U310 and U410 — Ultra Laptops for Style and Performance
Lenovo is expanding its Ultrabook portfolio following the recently announced IdeaPad U300s, with the  IdeaPad U310 and U410, two “ultra” laptops with attractive price points. Powered by the Intel Core Processor family, these thin and light performance laptops include Ultrabook versions with 64GB SSD drives for caching data, and versions with up to 500GB Hard Disc Drive (HDD) storage.

Both versions feature ultra-responsive performance with fast boot times and quick resume from sleep thanks to Lenovo’s Windows 7 Enhanced Experience tuning. The PCs also features other smart elements including Lenovo Smart Update which automatically updates mailbox, instant messaging and social media messages even in sleep mode, with up to eight of hours of battery life.

• IdeaPad S200 and S206 — Say Hello to the Fashionable Mini Laptops
Lenovo introduced two mini laptops to fill the computing needs between the netbook and the notebook. The IdeaPad S200 and S206 are lightweight and super thin, without sacrificing computing excellence. Making mobile computing even more convenient, the S200 and S206 comes with a large 11.6” HD widescreen and are just 20.7mm thick5 and weigh 1.3kg.

These slimmer-than-ever mini laptops also showcase design details beyond the standard netbook including, a high-quality tactile finish and Accutype keyboard with individual rounded keys.

The S200 comes with an Intel® Atom dual core processor and up to 32GB SSD6 storage, while the S206 features an AMD dual core processor. Created to be an ideal travel companion with up to 4 hours of battery life, these mini laptops allow users to get online in seconds and run basic apps without starting Windows thanks to the Lenovo Quick Start ‘instant on’ function. Additional features include an integrated 0.3M HD Webcam for seamless video chatting and Web calling, and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi.

   Select models also have integrated Bluetooth®6 capability. As a lightweight solution for Web browsing, both mini laptops are available in the following bold hues – Cotton-candy Pink, Crimson Red, Electric Blue, Graphite Grey and Pearl White.

• IdeaPad Y480 and Y580 — Laptops for Ultimate Entertainment
For a high-performance laptop capable of handling intensive multimedia applications, look no further than the new IdeaPad Y480 and Y580. Powered by the Intel Core Processor family, these new Y Series 14” and 15” full HD display laptops satisfy the highest level of graphics and processing performance when working on intensive multimedia and gaming, featuring up to NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX660M 2GB GDDR5 graphics.

In addition to the other new laptops, we announced new laptop models in our G Series. The three new G Series laptops G480, G580 and G780 14”, 15.6” and 17.3” HD screens, OneKey® Rescue System for simple data backup and recovery, and Veriface facial recognition, offer durable build quality, smart Lenovo technologies and basic multimedia functions at an affordable price.

• IdeaCentre B540 and B340 — High-Performance Touchscreen AIOs
The digital home gets a sleek upgrade with the new IdeaCentre B Series AIO desktops. The B540 uniquely combines a 23” full HD frameless screen with state-of-the-art multi-touch and optional 3D vision for a truly powerful and interactive entertainment experience. Powered by the Intel Core Processor family and supporting an adjustable VESA mount, it provides a rich entertainment experience anywhere in the living room.

The IdeaCentre B540 also features superior graphics technologies for a great gaming experience with up to NVIDIA GeForce® GT 650M 2GB graphics with DirectX®11.

Featuring a compact design suitable for any room of the home, the B340 comes with a 21.5” full HD touch-screen display and Lenovo IdeaTouch for an enhanced range of touch-optimised multimedia applications. Along with the B540, the B340 can optionally be configured with OneKey® TV7 - a unique function to turn the desktop screen into an HD TV at the click of a button, making it easy to switch between TV and PC modes with the picture-in-picture (PIP) function. • IdeaCentre K430 — Performance and Upgradeability
The new IdeaCentre K430 traditional tower desktop takes performance and upgrade capabilities to new heights with powerful processing, optional dual graphics support3 and twin hard drives3 along with massive memory and storage. It packs a powerful punch with super-fast processing powered by the Intel Core Processor family and up to 32GB of DDR3 memory.

For extreme gamers and those that need intensive multimedia support, the IdeaCentre K430 does the job with high-performance dual graphics cards featuring NVIDIA SLI or ATI CrossFireX technology and optional twin hard drives in a RAID0 configuration

With the K430 users have plenty of storage space with its huge capacity of up to 4TB HDD and up to 128GB SSD storage. The K430 also comes with a custom designed portable 500GB hard drive complete with a Universal Storage Module (USM) interface dock on the front of the PC for convenience that is compatible with other USM portable hard drives.

• Lenovo H520s — Slim, Easy-to-Use Desktop
The new Lenovo H520s offers a slim solution for home computing, at half the size of a standard desktop PC. • IdeaTab S2 10 Struts New Specs and Multimedia Prowess
Thinner than its predecessors, the IdeaTab S2 10” is just 7.5mm thin and at a featherlight 0.5kg is one of the lightest 10” tablets available today. IdeaTab S2 features the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8960 dual core CPU and Android 4.0 operating systems to offer a better multimedia experience.

Running Lenovo Mondrian UI, the user-friendly IdeaTab S2 10” displays customised content and includes easy access to the Lenovo App Shop and the Android Market for thousands of useful apps such as Amazon Kindle, ooVoo, Angry bird and mSpot. • S2 Smartphone Boasts Security and Photography Creds
The S2 smartphone includes the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon technology and Android 2.3 operating system. Both devices include a unique Kernel-level security system to protect personal data, prevent phishing, and control network and SMS traffic. Users can also take advantage of its 8MP super camera to capture amazing panoramic photos on the go. • K91—the World’s First Smart TV to Run Android 4.0 OS
As the world’s first smart TV powered by QualComm’s 8060 Snapdragon dual core CPU, the K91 is also the world’s first smart TV running the Android 4.0 operating system - which will revolutionise technology in the living room.

Its smart “Sandwich” UI unites three major smart TV functions, including Video On Demand (VOD), Internet applications and traditional TV programs. The online HD VOD is tailored to individual consumers’ viewing history, and delivers the best picture and audio quality with 3D FPR technology delivering flicker-free video on a full HD IPS panel at 240hz with SRS TruSurround. Internet applications include thousands of choices from the Android Market and Lenovo Store, including console games.

Additional smart TV features include voice control with natural language processing and speech recognition technology, allowing viewers to use voice commands to control the remote. Video interaction is even possible with the built-in 5MP webcam, which integrates face recognition technology for security benefits and advanced parental control.

With cloud support, consumers can access their favorite songs and videos with ease, share files between the TV and their tablet, smartphone or PC, and even control the TV via tablet and smartphone.

The IdeaPad YOGA multimode notebook will be available in 2H 2012 from $1,199.

The IdeaCentre A720 all-in-one will be available in the 1H 2012 from $1,299.

The ThinkPad X1 Hybrid laptop will be available beginning in Q2 2012 from $1,599.

The ThinkPad T430u ultrabook will be available beginning in Q3 2012 from $849.

ThinkPad Edge E130/135, E330/335 and Lenovo B480/485, B580/585 Series laptops will be available only in select markets, while the ThinkPad Edge E430/435, E530/535 laptops will be available worldwide starting in April. Pricing for the 14/15” ThinkPad Edge laptops start from $549, while pricing for the B Series laptops starts from $499.

The ThinkPad Edge S430 laptop will be available in June in select markets from $749.

The new IdeaPad U Series laptops will be available beginning in May from $699.

The new IdeaPad Z Series laptops will be available beginning in April from $599.

The new IdeaPad S Series laptops will be available beginning in June from $349.

The new IdeaPad Y Series laptops will be available beginning in April from $899.

The new Lenovo G Series laptops will be available beginning in June from $399.

The new IdeaCentre B Series AIOs will be available beginning in June from $699.

The new IdeaCentre K430 tower will be available beginning in May from $599.

The new Lenovo H520s desktop will be available beginning in June from $499.

The IdeaTab S2 tablet, S2 smartphone and K91 smart TV are available immediately in China. Lenovo will be releasing these products worldwide at a later date.
